In the summer of 2024, I had the honor of presenting at The Empowered Women’s Conference in Canandaigua, NY. Unlike other conferences I had attended, this one brought together women from across industries and backgrounds—far beyond education and technology.

It was there that I connected more deeply with Dr. Donna Marie Cozine (DMC) and heard her story. In her keynote, she shared her journey to writing her first book, and then several more.

One phrase she shared stayed with me: “Your mess is your message.”

I’ve had my share of personal and professional messes, and those experiences have shaped my passion and purpose. This book doesn’t recount every challenge, but it does highlight a truth I’ve learned: when you show up authentically—in every part of your life—both people and profit will follow. By “profit,” I don’t mean a million fans or a million dollars. I mean the wealth that comes from clarity, purpose, and living a life you are proud of. And the people who matter most—the ones who show up for you on the hardest days.

 This book is about helping women step boldly into spaces where men have long dominated—and not just enter those spaces, but lead within them. It’s about women taking the helm of organizations, lifting one another, and rising above challenges to reach the very top.

Through stories, strategies, and practical tools, it highlights the power of connection, mentoring, coaching, sponsoring, and leadership development. These are not just professional practices—they are pathways that open doors, build confidence, and create lasting impact.

At its core, this book is about turning women’s dreams into certainties. It’s a call to action for women to lead with authenticity and strength, and a reminder that when women support each other, entire organizations and communities rise.
